FLEECE APPRENTICESHIP: Herd Fleece Evaluation at Hid-n Hills Llamas in Cochrane, Wisconsin. Hosts were Gordie & Pam Jenson, and the instructor was Fran Soukup of Sugar River Llamas. I had a great time with Fran and Pam and had the opportunity to touch fleeces from suri, silky, and double coat llamas. I really appreciated the opportunity to get so up close and personal with a large number of very nice llamas. Thanks Pam and Gordie and teacher Fran!

LOM Winter Conference ILR-SD Fleece Show
Lamas of MN annual winter conference again held a fleece show, this year sanctioned by ILR-SD. This was the venue for Pauline's second fleece judge apprenticeship--nearly half way there. Instructor was Fran Soukup (Sugar River Llamas) and apprentice companions were Pam Jensen (Hid-N Hills Llamas), Danita Doerre, and Nick Hauptly. Teaching four inquisitive apprentices sure kept Fran busy all day. This is a local event for Pauline, but one thing fun at the end of the day was learning there were new names among the exhibitors who were in attendance to come forward for their ribbons.

2009 CHRISTMAS ALIVE!
Market Share and VVA Kabuki provided the camelid experience for a local Living Nativity. The Kasson, MN churches combined forces to produce 'Chrismtas Alive'- a 7 scene Story of Christmas with area Church Youth playing the parts of Mary, Joseph, Angel Gabriel, the Innkeeper, Shepherds, the 3-Kings, Herod, and of course Choirs of Angels. Pauline has seen some example of a Living Nativity, but this is the first time she saw that the shepherds had a flock of sheep, Mary rode a pony to the inn, the 3-kings arrived to Herod regaled in finery and riding great steeds. The manger scene had donkeys, Zebu cattle, sheep, chickens, ducks, rabbits and two llamas--all to keep the barn warm. The youngest angel was 4 yrs old--what a cutie. It was a lot of fun. Kabuki fell in love with the sheep and 'cried' whenever they were taken away.
